ok soooo the simple way to look is follow the lines from the master cylinder....if you have four wheel abs their will be 2 lines coming out then going to spliters mounted on the frame under the master cylinder...one line splits and goes to the two rear and the other splits and heads up front... the lines should run through the abs also...mounted on fender under hood near brake booster.

hope it helps

Ok, I traced the lines from the master cylinder...There are 2 lines coming from the master cylinder. Both lines go to something else that I'm not sure of. One line goes straight from there to the front brakes. The other line goes from that 'thing' to another unit, which I'm assuming is the ABS, then goes to the rear brakes. I don't know much about these sort of things, and I'm going by what you said, am I right in saying that my truck is 2 wheel ABS, since only 1 of the 2 lines are going through that second unit?????? The line that runs and splits off to the 2 front brakes is only coming from the master cylinder and going through the first unit which doesn't look like it does anything but take pressure reading. It just has one wire plugged into it. And the lines go into it then continues on through.

Help me out please with any response. I need this done as soon as possible. Thanks!

from what you have said yes it does sound if you have 2 wheel abs... if the "thing" that the line runs into has a 4 wire plug then yes tht "thing" would be the abs...since their is only one line going in and one going out and it runs to the rear that means your truck as 2 rear wheel abs.

If you're still in doubt, Look at the back of the front hubs. Ther would be a Tone Ring and a sensor wired up to read the tone ring. The Tone Ring kind of looks like a gear but the teth are square.

Thanks for all the Help!!!

I'm very sure that I have 2 wheel ABS then. I looked at the back brakes and there are 2 lines going into the brakes. The front ones only have one line. And there are no tone rings on the front brakes for the sensor to read.

I'm going to get my Hub Assy's at a discounted price. I'm glad to know that it's 2w ABS, cause those were cheaper. If anyone that reads this thinks it's not 2w LET ME KNOW.

Thanks for all the help!!!

does a 1993 dodge dakota 2WD 5.2L Auto have ABS

I just inherited a 1993 Dodge Dakota 2WD 5.2 liter
auto transmission and I do not think that it has ABS
brakes but how can I tell for sure. It only has 65K
miles and has been well maintained and no accidents
so I would like to replace soon to be needed brakes
hydraulics and linings.
