Today while driving my 05 dakota, the MIL light came on & I noticed considerable power loss??
An thoughts. Is this serious??

The MIL is on because something tripped a code. You need to get that code to find the problem.
Try this, turn the key on/off/on/off/on and the codes should display in the odometer. They'll look like this: PXXXX, when the codes are finished displaying it will read: Pdone. Post back here with the results.

Tried on/off in succession, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x,
did not get any error codes

This "on/off"
is all the way forward but not turning the starter over.
on/off 3 times
then back on "4th"
Then the codes will start to display.
You obviously have stored codes
or the light would not have tripped.
So you need to go back an try again till you get it right.

0700 Trans Control Sys Malfunction, & 0750
Shift selanoid A malfunction.
Is this bad???
