3.55 is the higher gear.

Numerically higher is lower.

3.55 would be taller or higher. Its the ratio of the size of the gear.

"ratio of the size of the gear."???????????? LOL

It's the ratio of the pinion gear to the ring gear. You count the teeth.

Thanks for the info.
I was expecting some bashers to this question. LOL

Did some looking around and found out I got 3.55 gears. Now if I'm right, that means for every 3.55 revolutions of the crank shaft, the axle rotates 1 rev?

NO, not the crankshaft. The driveshaft.

Ex: driveshaft rotates 3.55 turns to get 1 complete axle rotation.

Alex, usually you find out what you have by looking at the placard in your glove box.

N56629, I bought the truck used and it didn't have that info in there. Basically got to crawl around and find out what I have.

You probably already know this.

Block the front wheels and jackup the rear wheels. Best to use jack stands. Put in neutral, rotate wheel and count the number of turns the driveshaft makes. It's real easy to see the difference between 3,55 and 3.92.
