I had to have my tailgate repainted this week, however the decals that they put back on my truck were "hollow" in the middle while the original ones were "solid".
Do the current Dakotas come with "hollow" Dakota and 4x4 decals now? I told the paint guy that these decals were the wrong ones and he is gonna check on it for me?
Anyone out there know anything about this?

I've seen a few of the "hollow" decals on Daks. The ones I saw were reflective and looked like aftermarket stuff.
I saw a couple '02 Daks about 2 weeks ago and didn't notice a change in the tailgate decals.

The "DODGE" Decal and "4X4" Decal are solid block letters and numbers. The 97 and 98 and maybe 99 (not sure when they changed) SLTs had prismatic raised lettering but still block. Current ones are plain white or black.
I agree that maybe they used Ram decals. I seem to remeber seeing some Rams with lettering that resembled "hollowed out" look.

Yup... I confirmed it this afternoon...
These decals came off of a "Ram Sport 1500"... OH I AM SO PISSED!!! They don't even really match the other decals on the truck... I guess they just weren't paying attention.
Of course I called them and informed them of the mistake, however I guess the "decal distributor" was closed, so they won't be able to get to it by Monday.
Oh yeah... this SUCKS!

Boy it's bad enough when the public doesn't know the difference between a Ram and a Dakota but the dealer!!??

Took my decals off the day I got the truck. Thinking about putting on the chrome stick on decal, but not quite yet.

I'm with 2001 Rag Top....
I took off the giant lettering and put the D-A-K-O-T-A + SLT badging (same as on the doors) on the lower right of the tailgate. Plain tailgate didn't look right to me.

My Dad to his truck to Maaco to get his 94 Dodge truck painted. He was so upset because they did not put his D O D G E decal back on his tailgate. It did not see to make a difference to them. Can someone help me find decals for a 94 Dodge truck?
