 Subject: gas tank size?

so as far as i know my 1991 dakota should have a
15 gal. tank right? well i was really low on gas
and the light came on at about 1/8 a tank. so i
went to fill up and got just over 16.5 gallons.
is there a reserve tank maybe? im just curious
about this

My `95 has a 22 gallon tank. I'm guessing you have an 18. Most fuel lights are to come on with 'approximately' 2 gallons remaining.

depending on year and cab configuration, RC, CC, QC. my '00 QC has the optional 24 gallon tank.

when i did the engine swap in the 90 i took the 15 gallon tank out and swapped in the 22 gallon tank from the 95
it sucked having to fill up every 200 miles at the most
1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars
