Subject: gen 1 brake upgrade

Message:
Doing some research on Napa's website, the gen 1 and gen 2 have the same diameter rotor. The gen 1 is a 1 piece, the gen 2 is a two piece unit, hub and rotor. The gen 2 appears to have larger calipers and pads.

To upgrade my 93 2wd, would the later model calipers and or spindles bolt on? I'm looking for a beer budget brake upgrade.

I'm not opposed to swapping entire front suspensions via the junkyard.

It looks plausible with just pads, calipers, the caliper brackets, and brake hoses. I replaced my caliper, and noticed that the bracket is bolted onto my spindle. The brackets bolts are 3.75 inches apart, roughly, center to center.

Any second gen 2wd owners that could measure their bracket bolt distances?
