Subject: 4WD shifting problem

I have a '01 EC 4.7L 4WD. I can no longer shift into 4WD. Turn the switch and nothing happens. Light not even on for 2WD setting. Haven't investigated too far yet. Was curious if this is a known problem or just isolated. Could it be as simple as a cable coming undone? I have just over a 100K on this truck.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What ever happenned to the good old lever for 4WD?

Could be as simple as a blown fuse.

Had the same thing happen to my truck last year. QC, 5.9, Part time 4x4 (not AWD). The control module had died.

Contact these people and get a new one. I don't see that particular part in their database. But it's a Dodge dealer in OR; they can get it.

Or, contact a bone yard. the 4.7 was a common engine that year.
