I asked that question about 3 years ago when i thought my 46rh needed a complete rebuild. A good shop told me about 1300 if i dropped it myself and brought it in. If you bring them the truck and have them do everything i would expect another 800 bucks on top of that. plus that was 3 years ago when everything was cheaper so, its probably a couple hundred higher.
more than likely its gonna be $1500 if you drop it,
$2300-$2500 if you have them do everything.
In my opinion its only worth it if you drop it yourself, and if the truck is in great shape, and wont nickel and dime you after that, $2500 is a good down payment on a new or used newer rig.

Where's Jo?

A 46RH would coast about $1600?? Of course that without labor.

Please let us know if you get a rebuilt transmission through prayer; or if you have to buy one. Perhaps your god could just fix it for you, without even having to take it apart ?

Don't let just anyone fix it STS! Because some redneck shops well just half @ss fix it and then give you some B.S that it takes about 300 miles to get the rebuilt transmission broke in.

So watch who you take it to! I rather spend $1600 dollars than some cheep deal where you can't tell to much of a differnce in shifting.

What was the main problem with the A-518? The 3 speeds was fine. But when they went to the 4 speeds (or 3rd high) they just did not hold up under certin loads for a short period of time. And I talking about light pulling (under 3 tons)
