Message:
The headlights quit working, the PDLs don't work, interior lights don't work, the 4X4 switch doesn't have any effect. The "Service 4WD" light is on. All the fuses look good. Any ideas??

A few minutes after I posted, I went out and disconnected the cable from the negative battery terminal. After reconnecting, all worked fine.

Any idea what I reset?

May have reset the central timing module. Did you pull any stored codes before you cleared the PCM ?

So it did it agian. The three on-off-on's only showed "P done" - so no codes. When it starts to fail, the door lock solenoids and headlight relay act like they aren't getting enough voltage. Any chance the 5 year old battery may be weak and causing this? It starts fine.

Possible; although it's more common to lose the idle memory before noticing any starting problems when the voltage starts to get low.

My 04, 4x4, 4.7 auto, awd just hit the exact same scenario, as this '08 post... the service 4x4 light, rheostate on wipers, headlights, running lights, interior lights, and door locks all stopped working... the break lights, blinkers, and hi/lo wipers work along with everything else.. did anyone come up with the fix for this? thanks

"Central Timer Module." It's about $300 at the Dealer. Find a coupon for a discout before you go. The unit is made by Motorola so it's the reciever for the key fobs. Take both when you go so they can reprogram them.
