Is there any diffrence between a 97 and a 99 318?
I have to buy new main, rod bearings and a oil pump from "Autozone" and they only list up to 97

I don't know about actual 'hard' componets of the engine such as rods/pistons. I'm pretty sure they are the same. But I do know that some engine parts were changed from 97 to 98, or at least the TPS. I went to Advance to buy the TPS for my 97, it fit, but the elec connector was wrong, so we looked at 96/95, the same # as the 97, but the 98 had a different part #. Just food for thought. Do some serious research......
