Subject: TPS too tight? Need help please

Message:
Hello everybody,

I put a v8 throttle body on my 3.9 today and it went well, the throttle cable seems ok and all. The truck runs good but it doesn't accelerate or decelerate right. I have to really press the gas down hard to get going and when shifting up into each gear (it's a manual 5-speed). Then when I let off the throttle like when slowing down and dropping it into second gear to turn right or left, it's like I have let off the throttle and the engine gets no gas. Then I have to stomp it to get going thru the turn and I'm at way too high an RPM. With the V6 tb and still with this same original throttle cable the throttle was very smooth and never had any problems.

Is this a symptom of tightening the TPS down too tight? Some of the posts on the TPS mod say not to tighten it too tight, and I know I tightened it real tight by hand with a torx screwdriver. From what I saw with it the sensor will only go on one way so I think I have it lined up on the throttle plate shaft correctly. I will loosen the screws up tomorrow and try again, but if anyone here has any ideas on this I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jimmy
