Subject: Help!! Clunking sound

I need some help finding a noise in my truck. I have a 2000 cc 4x4, 3.9L V-6. I have a clunk every time I go over any bump. It sounds almost like something is hitting the floor. BAll joints and tie rod ends are good, shocks are tight, all bushings look good, exhaust doesn't move, and I have tightened every bolt I can find. I still can't find it. Anyone have any other ideas what could be loose??

Thanks in advance

Shawn

If the 2000 is assembled the same as the 2001 it could be as simple as the inner fender well moving around. It is just pushed in place. It is not bolted or glued.

My right one was coming out and I had no noise. After it was repositioned now whenever I go over a bump the front end sounds like a creaky old lady.

I don't know of any fix for this but if you find out it is the fender well then maybe it won't bother you as much. At least you'll know it ain't gonna kill ya'.
