I'm thinking of ditching the stock air filter and housing and replaceing them with the K&N round filter and intake tube .......... any thoughts ???
I can get them from a friend at a Major Parts store for around $58 CDN for the assembly & filter. Will I get the horses they claim ????

Before I traded my V6 I put an airaid tube and filter on,It REALLY helped,I'm saving my pennies for a z-tube for the 4.7 right now.I would suggest you get one especially since you have a 6..good luck

You will see an increase in performance over the stock air box. Will your numbers match the manufacturer's claim? Probably not as those numbers are "exagerated" by testing under optimal conditions to give higher numbers. Very rarely will you see real world numbers match claimed numbers with mass marketed speed items.

Note: The above statement does not apply to F&B's billet TB's. Those dyno sheets don't lie ;-)

Is there a noticable difference in performance between the Z-Tube and a IntensePerformance Stage II? Big difference in price, but I don't understand why the performance would be so different.

Which filter is the best option on the Z-Tube? 7"? 9"?

I think the Z tube is designed to route around the 4.7 L engine bay, the Stage II is for older engine bays. They say the 7" flows over 1000 cfm so either one will flow enough air, but then there is the motto "Bigger is Better".

I'm going put a 9" Big mouth on my 95 as soon as I get an airhat from a 97 5.2.
