Subject: mirror comp/temp functions?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello all, i am a first time Dodge owner, and new user to this forum. Does anyone have access to instructions on how to use the comp/temp functions on the mirror to an 05 dak qc 4.7? I have consulted the owners manual and all that it shows is the over head computer.......which i do not have...only the a compass/temp on the rear view mirror with two buttons and a single green light.....which on occasion displays the word "ice" in the display...i cannot find any info online nor in the owners manual...any insight would be very much appreciated!

mirror computer?

Isn't that an aftermarket add on?

Wasn't available in 01, and I've never heard of it being OEM until now.

Well, it is similar to the gm models...just a small 1/2" X 1/2" in the corner of the mirror....with 2 buttons...on thats says comp and one that says temp..i am fairly sure it is oem.....i just purchased this truck and it is a 1 owner lease w/27,000 miles on it.

Well, we'll have to get the 05 owners to chime in here. I think it's aftermarket though.

But still, the operation of it. Have you tried messing with it? Is it possible to ask them where you bought the truck?

Sounds like aftermarket. These usually display "ice" when the temps fall below freezing. Does it display temp and direction at the same time ? My best guess would be one button to switch between those modes, and another to switch temp display from Farenheit to Celcius.

yes it does display them both at the same time, and just messing with it a little it will toggle between c and f.......however it does not display ice at all times when sub 32 f......just when you initially start the truck.....i guess i am just a little scared of un calabrating the compass....and would like to know a little more about the instrument...such as how it is calibrated ect. i was under the impression that most 05 slt's came with the over head computer standard....but maybe not, that is why this computer mirror is in there...idk

I had a radar detector that also showed direction a while back. Initially, I had to set it to calibration mode, then drive in a circle or two, and it was all set. Are you thinking direction is not properly calibrated ? You could check it with a compass.
