Anyone see the '09 Ram on Allpar yet? Here's a link: http://allpar.com/model/ram/2009-ram.html

I'd love to see some diffent views, but it looks pretty good from this angle. Maybe a little similarity to the Gen III Dakota grille/hood. Definately looks to be more aerodynamic than the current Ram. Less brawny, maybe more sophisticated.

From the front door back it kind of reminds me of the F150, and not in a bad way. Mainly the circular wheel wells and fender flares of the F150 of a generation ago. This crew cab version (no more mega cab) has a shorter bed and some lockable storage in the bed rails. I think I remember that they will also sell the current quad cab with longer bed (6.5')& shorter rear cab.

What do people think? I might be jumping to a Ram with the cummins in a few years if this is the final version. Maybe wait a few years to get the bugs worked out of the new engine though.

The ONLY thing that turns me off about the RAM
(besides its Hemi's poor gas mileage) is no more
extended cab models. I don't need a four door
"crew" cab and if you look at the RAM's single
cab, it looks crappy. So looks like a new RAM will
never be in my garage..

I'm just waiting for the Dakota to drop their
extanded cabs too.. I'm sure the morons at Dodge
have given it some thought...

i dont see the dakotas losing the extended cab
then they would only have the 4 door model left

and i never liked the 4 doors either, but it is VERY nice in comparison to my 01 quad cab
makes getting people and things so much easier to get in the back seats
and you lose all of 2 inches off the bed, no big deal

should be no differnt. But would prefur the 6.1 over the 5.7L.

Also a much needed upgrade in the interior was deffently needed

Didn't you see the new #'s for power and fuel efficiency? Very nice.

I have loved my Quad Cab since 2001. Yes, I'm usually alone, but can easily take my family of 4, and with my cab high leer cap, with pas sthru windows, it locks, etc., trips are excellent!

I don't think anyone will have a problem with the powertrains available for the next gen Ram. I'm assuming the base will be the updated 4.7 which has very respectable power per displacement. For peformance it will have either the updated 5.7 or possibly the 6.1 Hemi. It will later have the 8 cylinder Cummins for those who want the strong torque but with less thirst for fuel.

Other interesting things out there are the direct shift gearbox that may work it's way in. Less driveline loss (more efficient) and quicker acceleration. Not sure when and if this will make it to the Ram.

It'll be interesting to see more pics from the Detroit show. I'd love to see some shots of the new interior in particular.

I might just have to re-up and buy me another 1. I like the Rams better than the Fords and those GMC/Chevy things are just about the butt ugliest trucks on the planet, though my neighbors Sierra has a beautiful interior. Second on my list would be a Tundra.

Now back the truck up Stan, The new GMC/Chevy Silverado doesn’t look all that bad, It is a big improvement I think. I defiantly like the newer boxy look, and don't forget fuel economy on the 4800 Vetch is 22MPG HWY.

But would like a diesel option for a 1/2 (if that’s what you can still call it these days). its too bad that Dodge didn't have on for there Ram back in 05.

This new Ram looks like a Ford Expedition with a dodge grill on it.

What ever happened to knock your socks off design team that Chrysler once had???

Can any one say Ford Super duty?? Remember the first super duty that came out back in '99??

That’s what it reminds me of up front.

The back end looks something like a Ford 150/Nissan Titan in the back.

But, I do happen to love the interior of the truck. It just so happened that it looks a bit smaller inside but that could be due to the camera.

The power up grade is much needed but again, it really makes no since to offer 2 Hemi’s especially if there within the same size (5.7-6.1) I guess that about a 27 cube difference between the two.

Also it would make since to offer the larger 4litre V6 rather than to have a engine that is smaller a needs to pull harder when driving though town. I mean 260 HP would attract more buyers to a V6 if all they want to do is drive a truck.

Over all it looks ok inside. Love dash board, larger nav.monitor and the floor shifter (about time!!) just like on that of the F-150.

And not to mention the exhaust pipes!

Over all it looks ok but the exterior design needs a make over!!!

Agree with STS, the truck should get a make over up front. But if its more fuel effecent then it should sell on the market better than the old one did.

I did happen to read on pickuptruck.com about the coil suspension. Is this surpost to prevent axel hop?

Although not exactly perfect, I think it's a huge improvement over what's available today. Reading through all that and looking at the pictures makes me want one. Maybe in a year or two I'll get one. Sure would like to see more about the new diesel.

Hey bob you can look for a 4.5L V6 or 5.7L V8 Diesals some times in the future in the 1500's.
