 Subject: Window Regulator???

Ok i need help! Yesterday i was getting into my car and went to roll down the window and the next thing i know my window was frozen shut but i was able to role down the crank all the way. After the window thawed i was able to get it to go down but only half way until i hear a weird clanking grinding sound. Only the back part of the window goes up and down easily the front closest to the motor somewhat falls down. Now i suspect it is the regulator on my manual windows? can these be repaired or is this even the problem. Any help is appreciated.
