Both codes are related to the Evaporative Emissions Control System. Check for leaks, bad vacuum lines, or possibly a bad gas cap.

Nine out of ten times it's a bad gas cap.
Replace it with one bought from the dealership
even if its higher in price over auto parts
stores.

Reset your system and try again. Don't take it to
your friendly Dodge stealership unless you got
money to burn. It's a LOT cheeper to replace
parts yourself (even if the parts you install
doesn't fix your problem) than having them rape
you.

Boy, is THAT ever true! My friend's Ford Ranger started idling strange and got a "cylinder #1 misfire" code. The plug wires were a little old, so we replaced them. No change. The MAF sensor had gone out once before and gave similar symptoms, so we tried a new one. No change. By this time the problem had worsened to the point that the engine was obviously running on 5 cylinders. We finally got smart and found the test for the fuel injectors. There is supposed to be something like 16 Ohms across the two terminals. The injector for #1 was open, the other two on that bank were correct. Replaced the injector ($35) and the truck ran like new again. Even though we were kinda dumb about it, we STILL probably spent less than the stealership would have charged!

I was more lucky with my Dodge. It got an error for a bad O2 sensor. I looked up which one it was, borrowed the tools from Autozone and replaced it for $75. I wonder what the stealership would have charged for that!

The Internet and forums such as this one are a very valuable source of information for the do-it-yourselfers. Thanks to all who participate and share information!
