Any pros or cons of the 03 dakota sport with a stampede package with the 4.7 and 5spd auto? looking at buying a used one and wondered about that as well as mods what is available in terms of computer porgaming and shift modifying? thanks guys just steppin up from a 91 with the 5.2 to the 03 and havent been on here in awhile see ya guys around thanks

Look under the hood at the PCM. Its on the passenger side outboard the stock air filter housing. If the PCM has 4 connectors, it's the "New Generation Controller" with Transmission control mudule built-in. No computer programming available.

If the PCM only has 3 connectors, you're golden.

Not true Jim. I have a 03 with NGC and Superchips will work with it. not the 04's though. Also there is a SCT tuner coming out that will be able to program all 4.7's

Transgo also makes a reprogrammer kit for the 45RFE & 545RFE transmissions. It really firms up the shifts. The part # is 45RFE-HD2.

Probably high 15's I'd think. Depends on what your elevation is. I run a 15.54 @ 89mph here in Phoenix which is 1300' above sea level, and thats with an 02 RC 4.7L with the 4spd auto and 3.55 open, I have an intake, exhaust, and HO cams. Temperature is also a factor as well as barometric pressure and humidity.
