Subject: towing harness question
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a factory towing package on my 03 dakota that I have a problem with. Everything works correctly except the runnning lights, I get no voltage out on the pin for running light when my truck lights are on. I noticed some people on this site mentioned that factory setups have a relay to deliver current to this pin, can anyone tell me where this is, or where the running light pin draws power from?

thanks
B Scott

Here's the power tree:

From battery

Thru fuse 4 in Junction Block (engine compartment)

Thru the closed contacts of Park Lamp Relay in Junction Block (closed when Parking Lights are ON)

To fuse T (yes, the letter T) in the Power Distribution Center (left end of dash)

To pin 3 of Trailer Tow Connector way back on the rear bumper.

Good luck

Now this is what this FIND site is all about!
Dakota owners helping one another out.
Just think what bgscott would have had to shell
out if he had to take his 03 to the stealership.
100 bux at least! And that's IF the stealership
was a honest place to deal with.

GREAT site for Dakota owners!!
