Subject: Stock to Monroe Reflex to KYB GasAdjust

ON someone elses thread about shocks recently, I spoke of my disappointment with my Reflex shocks and was looking into KYB's, the thread author asked me to post my results.

Changed the stock shocks to Monroe Reflex ~2-3 years old. LIked the improvement.

Years later, the ride was getting very rough, with too much tire rebound, little to no dampening.

So, bought some KYB Gasadjust shocks all round.
ONe of the Reflex looked as though it had leaked some oil.

On the rear, I did the longer bolt thing that I saw on this site years ago, and now have a KYB, and Reflex, side by side on Each side, in other words, dual rear shocks.

The ride is a big improvemnt. It even handles better b/c less tire rebound on small bumps, etc.

I noticed the same thing on my 03 QC when I added the Reflex's 2 years ago. Big improvement over stock, but the ride quality faded after 60K miles. I guess the inertia valving inside the shock wore out.

I just got a Durango and decided to go with the Reflex's again since the ride improvement was soooo much better than stock. Plus, and I'm not going to be putting a lot of miles on the Durango.

BTW, Monroe is having a buy 3 get 1 free sale during July.

NOw that I driven the same roads, as in to work and back, there is a huge improvement over the apparently worn out Monroe reflexs'. It's not just cause I installed new shocks, there is a huge objective difference.

The Reflex were lifetime guarantee. I sent them an email about that, haven't heard back from them for over 2 days now.
