The clunk on turns are a good sign your ball joints are shot. Jack the wheel up and grab the tire top and bottom . If you can move it replace them ( both sides. Then get it aliened. Check everything including steering. Might not be ball joints

i agree with OBIO3 if it is a clunk...but if it is a constant "clicking when you are drivin...it very well could be the CV shafts.

Most CV joints will not start to clunk or click unless the rubber boot is torn open or off and there is no grease left. I would look at balljoints before a cv joint, but just see if the cv joint rubber boots are torn open. If they are it may be the cv joint or it will be when all the grease is gone

i had a CV shaft on an 87 dakota where the sleeve that holds the balls in place (outer joint) cracked and there was a "clicking" noise. the boot was perfectly fine and there was lots of grease in it as the shaft was only a few months old. i believe that Epyon is suggesting the grease is gone and dirt and rust are making it click. this is also a common problem in front wheel drive cars. the clicking and still good boots that is. being as the ball joints are notorious for being bad in our trucks check them out first...they could be bad. but if not check the CV shafts.
