I have an 02 reg cab dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 and the other day my speedometer,odometer and cruise control stopped working and my brake,ABS and airbag lights came on. I pulled the codes on the dash and it said P0500,950 and 999. As I was driving home from my moms house the truck started to stall at most stops, and at one point hesitated to shift out of 1st gear. when I got home I had a new code, P0700. My neighbor is a mechanic at a dodge dealer and said he would not be able to look at it until Tuesday, my truck has 55,428 miles. If anyone could tell me what is wrong/how much it will cost to fix that would be awesome.

P0500 = no speed sensor signal
P0700 = EATX controller DTC present
950 = ? not in 01 book
999 = ? not in 01 book
So basically you are missing your speed sensor signal, which is causing havoc. It should be the one on the rear differential.

This is a fairly common problem - you may find you only need the speed sensor; as "jjj" says. Might want to try just replacing that first.
