I have a 1987 dakota w/3.9L and a e.g.r. light that i can't seem to get to reset I cleaned the intake and installed a new e.g.r. how ever the light will not reset ANY IDEAS AT ALL?

did you reset the PCM? disconnect the battery for about 2 minutes.

Yes i did that i just don't get it unless there's a short i just bought the truck and was on so as i said i replaced the e.g.r. and cleaned the intake bat. was unhooked for an hour or so.As soon as you turn on the key its on and doesn't even flicker.Its become a real problem I need to get it inspected which emissions is fine but they won't pass it with the light on.
