122 K is getting up there in milage. Has the tranny been rebuilt? I bought a used Durango with 92 K and the tranny went out before 100 miles were driven. So if the tranny wasn't rebuilt it's past time. You didn't say what engine or if it had an auto trans. Check the fluid for color and a burnt smell. Any problems with the ball joints? Are the brakes new or in pretty good shape? Any maintainace records for the truck? Lots of stuff to check besides the looks and extras.

I've got a 99, and i have 205000kms on it, which is about 127000miles. My trans is still strong, motor is still strong. She makes her sounds when its cold, but when it's at operating temp its a pretty quiet motor.

If the truck's in good shape (hasn't been beat on) you won't regret this truck...I love mine

127,000 miles on the same transmission? That's impressive. But u also didn't say whether a standard or auto. Auto trans have been know to go out with 46,000 miles, but usually less than 80 K. I think it depends on how it was cared for.

differnet year, but my old 99 went almost 169k on the original transmission before I traded it in on my current dakota - seen the truck driving around town before too.

it was auto with 3.9L 4x4 extended cab.

I only changed the fluid and adjusted the bands once.
