Subject: How much is fair price?

I have a 2000 quad cab 4.7 auto. I've added a 2/4 Belltech lowering kit, niro drop shocks, 18" chrome wheels, Magnaflow Cat back, Richmond 4.10's, Kenne Bell Supercharger, hard tonneau cover, Hide a hitch, rollpan. I've used Mobile 1 synthetic since new. I have 93000 km's (about 60000 miles). I've kept this truck in amazing shape!! Anything I've ever taken off from factory I've kept and will go with truck. What do you guys out there think is a fair price to ask. I know I'm going to lose considerably, never get close to my money back that's for sure!!! I'm in Southern Ontario, Canada.

Going with what you said, the truck is a hard sell. Only a few will want your truck thinking it has had the wheels run off it. So your looking at a longer selling time. I would take the highest price offered in pricing books/sites and figure out what your add ons are worth used. Most likely you won't get this much for it but then again the right buyer is going to buy it no matter what. Years ago I bought a ford heavy-half pickup with a 400 engine souped up to the eyeballs with no S/C. Very nice looking truck and I bought it for 1800 . I spent a week detailing it inside and out to near showroom quality. I sold it for 4200 to the first guy that tried it out. Young guy and I could hear him getting on it (very loud pipes). He came back giggling and said it was the fastest thing he ever drove. He bought it for the 4200 period . Like I said . You need the right buyer.

This is the problem with mods. Blue Book won't give you squat for the stuff. You may find that right buyer, but maybe not. I read so much here and other forums where people put all this stuff on their truck and then turn around and try to sell it. Wind up taking the parts off to sell it. Mods are fine if you're gonna keep it for 10 yrs, but how many people keep their cars that long?

I keep them that long. I ran my last truck for 27 years. When the frame gave up, I bought the dak. Plan to get ten years from it min. Good little truck.

people don't put speed mods on without a reason.

I don't want it. why should I buy your problems.

take it to a carmax near you and see what they offer you.

other problems - young kids want the speed mods but they got no money, only promises to pay you.

good luck

Bought mine site unseen (anybody still do that?) in '95. Told the dealer what I wanted -color, options, etc. and they found one the next state over. They swapped a car for my rig, I came down and signed all the paperwork and still waited another 45 min. for it to show up! Is that knowing what you want or what? I'm on year 7 of no payments! I could be paying for a newer one, or I can take some of that $$$ and use it on this one. (Hmm, how many mods can I do with a years worth of payments?... x 7!) Bottom line, you guys are right, you don't get your money back, just the opportunity to enjoy your rig while you own it. I plan to make a planter out of it once they stop selling gas.

Sure, bought mine the same way - had to wait a month for a v8 RC to come in, none on the lots. Year 5 of no payments here, similar plans.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

for the mods that you listed you could prolly maybe get 6500 or 7000 if your lucky, like everyone said mods don't mean crap these days, maybe some cluless rich kid may buy it for more but you never know, i sold my 2000 quad for 4500 140,000km's no damage and the salesmen at the lot said he was being generous.

I know is going to take the right buyer to get my truck sold but I'm not worried. I don't HAVE to sell it. I was figuring adding about 3-31/2 grand to a comparable truck. I've seen a few trucks similar selling for 10 grand around here(Canadian). I also only have 60000 miles on it but it is 7 years old. A freind in the bussiness said vehicles lose a great deal of value as soon as they roll over 100000kms(mines got 92000). I'm going to wait till spring, put in the trucktrader and see.
