How do i figure out what kind of rear Diff gears my Dak has.
Its 1997, 3.9 4x4. manual transmission.

Try looking in you glove box. There should be a white sticker in there. If not try your door jams.

Also may be on a metal tag on the pumpkin of the rear end.

Could also be a sticker on top of the left axle housing, visible through the wheel well.

My truck has it on the underhood decal.
Most likely you have either 3.21 or 3.55.

I need to replace the pinion bearing in the rear end...is it worth it to change out gears while im at it? how much would a bit higher diff gear cost me?

dont forget since it's a 4x4
the gears in the front axle
will also have to be replaced
to match the rear's new ratio.
