ok guys i am really thinking about trying to sell my 2000 dakota 4x4 4door because im tired of all the things going wrong all the time and the warranty just expired so now im gonna have to start paying for it myself. i have had to have a whole new rear end, 2 new powersteering pumps, a whole new rack and pinion and they had to replace one manifold because it had a hole in it. oh and i dont even know how many new gas caps i've had to put on. well anyways i am wanting a silver 2004 hemi 4x4 4 door and was just wondering what yall's opinion is on them and some of the common problems.
thanks alot

Have you checked to see if that truck doesn't use the same gas caps and power steering pump as what you are complaining about ? Also the half ton would have the same 9 1/4 rear that I have in my '00.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Just be aware if your wanting a ram, rust creeps up pretty quick on these. Keep a serious eye on the lower panels. The sheet metal on these are so thin. I had a 2004 silver quad 4x4 on my lot in the ending of 2005 with 29,000 miles. It was only a year old and rust started creeping on it. Not a single ding or dent on it, the rust just starts to show up. The customer wanted that body work done to close the deal. Lost a profit on that one.

really my dad has a 2003 ram 1500 and the only problem he has had with it so far is a couple bad pinion seals but thats not the first ram i've seen with that. we live in texas so we never really have much salt on the roads or live by the coast so i dont think we would have much of a problem with it rusting..HOPEFULLY
