I went to my dodge dealer today, and the standard (not chrome) R/T wheels are buy 3 get 1 free - if you DON'T know someone at a dealership, that's only $160 a wheel for THREE wheels, plus tax. Not bad.. Just figured I'd let you guys know, it ends September 30th.

That is a good deal, considering the wheels are heavy as hell and are worth more than that as scrap.

Did I miss something here? Heavy? Cheap? I
haven't seen too many options out there for
Daks (especially if you want to keep close to
the original overall diameter).

Huh? I've replaced my 98 4X4 SLT 15" wheels w/ R/T wheels (17") and they are great! Much better handling.

I called my dealer today and he said this deal was probably only good in the states. For us Canadian guys, R/T wheels go for $195 each. The 16x8s that we all have are worth $586 each. Im going to sell my tyres and wheels and pick up r/ts.

Teamfast, are you saying that the stock wheels are worth $586 EACH? I've seen my rims sell on ebay for less than that per set. I have a 97 Sport.

Leslie, the 16" wheel teamfast is talking about is different then what came on a 97. I think they only started using the 16" wheels in 2001. They sell for more on e-bay (or anywhere else) then the 15x8 style. They do cost more from the dealer then the 17" as well as they are pretty much only sold for accident repairs where an insurance company is picking up the bill. The R/T wheels are sold as an accessory for all Dakota's and Durangos and therefore carry a more reasonable price. Still I wouldn't expect the 16" to sell for much over $100 each on e-bay the 15x8's go about $75, the 15x7's go about $50 each, and the R/T 17" go about $100 (which is good considering every Dealer will sell then brand new for about $125 each).

Okay, that makes sense, thanks. I'd really like to get a nice set of rims, was looking at American Racing Thrusters, they're pretty sharp. Speaking of ebay, there are some nice chrome ones on there.
