They're also illegal in most states, because there are no red or amber reflex reflectors (required by all states), and currently there are no DOT approved red bulbs for use in auto tail light assemblies.

According to 2006 Florida Statute 316.221 as long as you emit a red light plainly visible at 1,000 feet you are 100% legal ..... I spent a day in court to fight a ticket and won :) ... "DOT approved" means nothing.... hey Bill ... will they fit a '03 ?
