Hey has anyone ever had their sway bar links go bad on a cc r/t? mine is a 99 with 67000 miles on it. it feels sloppy in the front and when the wheel is turned both ways, it gets a popping noise. i had it to the dealer to check out the front end, and thew stated everything passes inspection...just wondering thanks for any info

Sounds like ball joints to me, too. Had to have the right one changed on my 2000 R/T at 15K miles. Had a popping sound when I turned left.

i had them (balljoints) replaced last inspection, still made the noise, had it in for another look, i had them re-check the ball joints again, they said everything was ok, and of course they couldnt hear the noise! the dealership is pretty good where i go,i never had any probs. but this is just driving me nuts! thanks for your input, if anyone else has had a similar problem, please share

i think this is a common problem with the cluning sound. I replaced everything up front (balljoints, swaybar end links, swaybar bushings, tierod ends, shocks) and I still have a clunk here and there. I think I heard on one of these posts that the body mounts can make that noise when you turn. not sure how true this is but thats what I heard. the only thing I thought it could possibly be is control arm bushings but I don't see why they would make that noise.

i often thought that too, mine are all cracked, i think it might be due to the pph headers being close with the heat drying them out,...i dont know, ive been slacking on maintenence due to the purchase of a house. thanks man
