Subject: How to tell if I have limited slip rear?

Hey all,

I have been reading the posts on how to tell if I have the limited slip rear end? 98 CC, 5.2, 5spd I have looked on the back axle, has a bunch of numbers and the rear end ratio. Looked on all of the plackards on the truck nothing. I went to the dealer and a print out of all of the options. It says 9.25 LD for rear axle. The dealer didn't know if I need the friction modifier or not. I think he wants me to bring it in so he can do the change... Thanks

Shawn

Jack up the rear end and turn one of the tires. If you have LS they will both spin the same direction. If not, the other tire will spin in the opposite direction.

Isn't the fun way to do a burnout on a dirt road? If both tires kick up dirt, you've got an lsd. Easier than jacking up the truck, too. I punched it in my dak the other day and left two ugly black patches on the driveway. Wifey is not happy about it;)

Check in the glove box. There is a sticker with your VIN# and options that came from the factory. It will tell you there.

Oh ya don't get in habbit burn outs are addictive. My girl friend ate up the stock tires in about a month after I introduced her to a brake stand (bad idea). Oh well she bought the new set. She learned her lesson.
