Depends really, cause ive seen dakota sports with v8's and v6's,
which is an option in that case. The under parts are usually the
same, engine, tenny, all that jazz. The only real diffeence is
probably just the package. The stereo, power windows, automatic
transmission, yatta yatta. Ususally its the same truck, just cheaper
and down graded. If you can live without some luxuries. lol

Actually the sport has a heavier rear stabalizer bar plus the front end is body colored with same comfort stuff as an SLT depending on the year. AWD, High Output motors are available as in the SLT.

Actually they're talking about 92 DAKS when AWD wasn't even an option, I believe you are referring to the GEN 3. On those, the sport doesn't necessarily have the heavier rear stabilizer bar unless it has the tire and handling package, which not all of them do. I think the front grills were body color up to 02 or 03. My 04 Sport plus actually has a chrome plated plastic grill surround.

Your right, to many changes and combinations available. I forgot the handling package was extra. Mine has everything functional you can get on an 03. Handling pkg,AWD , 1850 load cap,4.7, 5spd Auto, 3.92 rear. Great combination of pulling and work. Closest thing to a sports car I've ever driven in a truck. I wish they still made them this way.

4x4 also have a sway bar in the front. If yours is missing, there must be a reason it was removed.

The Sport Group was nothing more than an appearance group. Mechanically, there is no difference than a similar optioned truck without the Sport Group.

I bought a 1992 5.2 2wd RC Sport new in Jan.'93. I had to buy my own front swaybar and have it installed; the swaybar was an option. A body-color grille and Sport graphics were the only real differences from base models, other than a AM/FM cassette player and 15x6 alloy wheels.
