Subject: p0455 problem

Okay here's the problem: I have a 2000 dakota with a 3.9L. I keep getting code p0455 once every 2 months, which i know relates to a leak in the fuel system. If i drive the truck for a week the cpu will reset it's self. this problem only occurs at 3/4 tank of gas. The gas cap was replaced last november.(e-test). i've looked over the evac system, all seems okay, with out taking it apart.
So my 2 questions are:
1)How long does the purge pump run for, and what voltages is the computer looking for? i'm thinking about building a monitoring cct to watch this operation.
2)Could one block/pinch the tubing coming off the purge pump? or place a jumper wire on the pump signal? to trick the computer

thanks, any help would be great.
