I'm changing out the front speaks (lower 6.5in) on my 01 QC, and need to know which is + and -.

the two wires are green, one with a dark stripe, one with a green stripe. I'd think the green stripe was +?

And what's this about an amp on the speaker? Is that just the rears on the infinity?

Gasket was ripped to hell on the speaker cone.
sounded like poop.
TIA

On the trucks with a infinity system there is a amp behind the kick panel on the passenger side.. its for all four speakers... and its running at 2oHm. LEFT FRONT - should be a Lt green/ Dk green stripe
LEFT FRONT + should be a Lt green/ Violet stipe RIGHT FRONT - should be a Lt Blue/ Black stripe
RIGHT FRONT + should be a Lt Blue/ Violet stripe

Thanks Forsetti,

That's the way I hooked up the Lt fr.

I'm about to do the Rt front.

Planned obscelescence (sp?), the gaskets always rot out, even with no water in the door.

over the years I've found identifying which stereo wires are positive and which are negative to be a hassle. I was shown a little trick. Take a 9v battery and touch the leads of the speaker to it. If the cone moves outward the wire on the positive terminal on the 9v battery is the positive lead and same with the negative. If the speaker cones moves in, the lead on the positive terminal on the 9v battery is the negative lead.
