Old Dodges don't Nickel and Dime you to death. It's more $100.00 here - $100.00 there.

Now, the 98 3.9 has come up with a novel idea; the filler valve on the high side of the Air Conditioning leaked. The cute plastic cap can't seal it. The $100.00 replacement is the pipe that snakes around the air cleaner.
Today I broke out the JB-Weld and filled the cap with the mixture and put it back on.
Black Light inspection shows it does not leak now.

What else can you fix with JB-Weld?
The lumbar support of the driver seat broke. The steel had the consistancy of pot metal and had no strength at all.
Solution; Strapping, like you hang pipe from rafters or you use to tie your water heater to the wall with. Cleaned everything down to the metal, slathered JB-Weld all over evrything, tied things together with wire every couple inches. Darned if it didn't work.

Didn't use a drop of Amsoil, so you haters needn't add your comment.

No, the GM was the Sonoma that, to go 230,000 miles, required a heater core, 2 front breke overhauls, 2 clutch overhauls, 2 radiators,2 engines and would have needed a transmission overhaul when I traded it in on the 98 3.9 Dakota automatic that has 500,000 miles on the original engine and transmission.

Seems to have worked. I spent the day picking up stuff at 27 locations throughout the greater Sacramento area.
Only shut down a total of 15 minutes, once had to wait, idling, 40 minutes in a parking garage.
Temperature outside...105 degrees.
Temperature inside.....72 degrees.

Yaay!
