Hi everyone.
I just purchased a GTech Pro RR and I have some questions i need answered inorder to set this device up.
Can someone tell me what the Redline RPM is for an `05 Dodge Dakota CC 4.7L v8?
Also this device also wants to know what the Curb Weight of this vehicle is so if anyone knows that also it would be most helpful.

i would do the redline at 5000rpm
weight is somewhere between 4000-5000lbs so do 4500lbs
i ran my dakota on the g-tech thing and my best was
7.2secs 60mph
1/8mile in 10.12secs
1/4mile in 15.77secs

Redline for the 4.7 is 6k, with the superchips you can bump it up to 6500 no problem. 5k is for the older mopar pushrod motors like the 5.9 5.2 and 3.9 The OHC motors can do 6k no problem.

Oh,... Does it matter if it's an auto or manual shift? Mines an Automatic shift and i can't ever remember seeing the rpm's go to 6k, I have it setup for 5400, at that rpm setting my idle reading is more correct,.. I can't remember what it read when it was set to 6k but i'll change it and let you guys know.
So far i'd have to say that this is a pretty cool device but i'm not sure it's worth $250 tho.
If anyone else has any suggestions or has one of these GTech's let hear what you have to say about them....

First of all,
Dakota Sport, - You don't have a 4.7 with a SC tuner, b/c you CAN'T change the redline limiter, on a 4.7.
Send of all,
Unless you're fairly seriously modded, and by that I mean an aftermarket cam, NOT the HO, but a performance grind, that will allow the engine to do ANYTHING past ~5300, powerwise.
The Redline on a 4.7, limits out at 6,000.
It's a good thing too,
Have you ever seen a dyno of a stock/lightly modded 4.7 (as in HO cams, intake, yadda, yadda)?
The torque falls off a cliff!
So while you're reeling in the fact you went to 6 grand, your less modded 4.7 is walking away from you keepin in more in the power band.
If you want to see the best dyno to date vs. mods, the way it's driven, (i.e.- no short belt, etc.) then send me your e-mail, mines under the envelope.

TexasTodd, let me reprhase this to make you happy. You can hit 6500 rpms on the 4.7 with the superchips, 6k without. Does that sound better for you?

Yeah, it sounded like he was doubting the superchips upping it to 6500. It does, I know for sure. It goes to at LEAST 6500. With the tach being a little slow to respond, I think the stock redline was just above 6,000, maybe more like 6200 I have heard. And the limiter with the superchips is at least 6500 if not closer to 6700. I've seen my tach bump just past 6500.
Now the power falling off about 5500 is correct. It does. The 4.7 would make a noticable more power if it could breath past 5500 like with a better cam(s) and intake (manifold) that was shorter.

Hi Guys,.. thanks for returning...
I'm hoping someone can help me out setting this GTech Pro RR up.
I have the device right here in front of me now and the questions it has in order for vehicle setup are,...
Vehicle Weight.
Engine Redline.
Shift Points.
For the vehicle weight one i have 4700lbs.
I wanted to include some of my weight and the weight of the gas.
For the Redline i have 6000rpm.
For the shift point i have it set to 5700rpm.
Does this sound alright as far as being setup fairly close?

They all sound about right to me DakotaDave, you should post your results when you figure the thing out, I have been looking for a G-Tech Pro but I don't have the cash at the moment.
