WAR?!?! I do think not... War with who? Everyone in the world seems to be on our side. the leaders of Afganistan are in hiding because they are scared of us.. There will be no war to it... More like umm a total flatening of the country.. They are poor and not to mention, they are having a civil war anyway... They can't fight back...

I say flatten the country and ask questions later..

Sure fine if you think I am a homo for not wanting war. I don't think you have ever traveled to Mozambique within the last 3 yrs. Or any other war torn country. The image is not pretty. Not long after I left that country (went there in search of the perfect wave) I found out that our guide, whom I grew fond of, was killed by stray gun fire. Have you lost a friend due to war? So before you call me a coward, get your facts straight. i bet you the majority of veterans will probably agree with me, if we must fight, then i will fight. but if it can be avoided, I would rather war not happen.

Some of you are right about not knowing who did the attacks but I can assure all of you there are many folks out there like me who have itchy trigger fingers and are all tensed up awaiting the instant the fool who is responsible comes forward. They will find out real quick what it is like to have a whole country come at you at once. I am all for driving our daks on over as soon as we find out where we are going! Personaly, I feel these type of attacks(cowardly) have middle eastern terrorists written all over it. Wouldnt be surprised if it were those camel jockey pieces of SH*&.

Look at the nessessity, America must make a response or we will be open to any and all mad men who have a grudge against us. Although we have a moral obligation to know that whom we are going to destroy is actually the guilty party. I am a veteran who has seen death on a fairly large scale and believe me its not a pretty site when body bag after body bag is going past you on its way to the freezer and someone is right behind them with a mop to clean up the blood dripping on the floor. Yes, we must retaliate but lets take a pause and make sure we know, without a doubt, who is guilty before we pull the trigger or we will be little more than the ones who did this to our wonderful country. Believe me whoever did this has definitely messed with the wrong country and I hope that before I send any one of my four children to war, I would like to know that we are risking their lives for the right reason and not just blind revenge. God Bless

I think some of you need to wake up and smell the coffee. Robert, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I can't keep track of all the websites with people posting about how they would do this and that if they had a chance to go to war.
What a crock of sh!t. I'm serving in the US military, and even though it doesn't make me an expert, I think I have a pretty good understanding of the pros and cons of going to war. Especially if the enemy is to be Afghanistan.
Real war isn't like a freakin video game, and it sure as hell isn't like shootin targets or animals for that matter. It's you against the enemy; you trying to kill him and him trying to kill you. IT'S NOT A GAME.
I don't think there's a soldier, airman, or sailor in the history of this country who has gone into battle completely fearless.
I know most of you think that the military superiority of the US will be the deciding factor, but not in a conflict like this. This is guerilla warfare at it's ugliest. Look at how the Russians tried for 10 years to crush Afghanistan to no avail, and that was with a much larger force than the US will probably put in place, if troops actually do deploy.
This whole thing about using Pakistan as a staging area is a very bad idea. They're not much different than Afghanistan, except that they have nuclear weapons. Their military dictatorship actually supports the Taliban, who in turn supports Bin Laden. Who's side do you think they're on?
The bottom line is that everyone needs to stop and seriously think. All of this sh!t talking is getting old. Individuals like myself, who are actually in the military, want revenge just like yourselves, but there's a smart way to go about it. I don't think anyone knows how just yet, but I'm sure our leadership will formulate a good, executable plan.

We dont need any chiken$hit sevriceman who want to keep thier heads in the sand and hope that they don't get sent over there just because they joined durring peace time to get the military to pay for thier college tuition. leave the thinking and planning to your superiors and go out and do what you are told. Yes this is probly going to be a long drawn out opperation, and we are going to need a larger military force than we have now. We need these positive lets go kick some ass attitudes. Many recruiting stations have been very buisy this week. And we owe that to the Americans that are thinking about defending the homeland instead of themselves. I think I agree to both of the points here. I am a former Marine and am ready if called to defend my country. Spaghets has a point. It isn't going to be as easy as everyone thinks to take out Afghanistan. Yes we do have everyone on our side, or that is what they want us to think. In my experience I think that America can really trust no other country because when it comes down to it agreements don't mean jack when another country starts getting attacked. I also think that Sadam will try to partner up with bin laden. If this happens we will have a major chemical and germ war. If it were all up to guns and bullets we would definitely have it hands down. I do not doubt that the we the US will fail in this attempt either but I think a lot of people will be lost.
Not that anyone will care but here is something I got in an email that is kind of interesting;

in the year of the new century and nine months,
from the sky will come a great king of terror...
the sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
fire approaches the great new city...
in the city of york there will be a great collapse,
2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb,
third big war will begin when the big city is burning.

he said this will be bigger than the previous two.
2001 is the first year
of the new century and this is the ninth month.
New York is located at the 45th degree latitude.

this was written by Nostradamus in the early 1500's.

kinda weird huh?

As far as the Daks go I think I will leave mine in the garage and take a 140 or 160 over. Bin laden needs to be killed not captured!!

Let me clear up a few things. First of all I proudly serve in the United States Air Force as a Combat Rescue Helicopter Gunner. I am not a desk jockey, but more like an integral part of the 911 service for our country's combat pilots. If they Fuk Up... We Pick Up Anytime, Anywhere!!!

For all of you who think that I have a bad attitude you are sorely mistaken. The point I'm trying to get across is that you just don't go charging in somewhere without thinking first, actions such as that have gotten a lot of people killed. Most recently the US actions in Somalia in 1995 were a perfect example. If you haven't read the book "Blackhawk Down" go get it, it's a documentary of the battles in Somalia. Quite a few guys died that didn't have to if the proper planning had been done. Hindsight is always 20/20.

I am a patriot as are all of you. I come from a fourth generation military family and understand the principles which make our country free. I have served during the Bosnian Conflict, as well as having done many tours in Turkey, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia enforcing sanctions on Iraq. I have lost comrades during wartime and peace. So NO ONE on this forum has the right to denegrate the service I have performed for the freedom and interests of MY COUNTRY.

K.Flood if you plan on serving in the Armed Forces I wish you well. We need passionate young men like yourself. In fact there is a term used to describe a person like yourself, "All thrust and no vector". I understand your need to vent your frustrations, but some of the immature comments you make about other peoples views and the generalizations of entire ethnic groups is completely uncalled for.

The hysteria and anger that has overtaken many people is exactly what the terrorists wanted to produce. These two things cloud a person's brain and make it difficult to react. This is why US Military combatants are trained to harness this fear, hysteria, and anger so that they can make decisive decisions under the most austere of conditions. That is how how heros are born, not by charging headfirst into the line of fire.

Sorry for the rant.

"You don't go to war to die for your country, you go to war to make the other bast*rd die for his country." -George S. Patton

I have served in my beloved Marine Corps with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit Special Operations Command. I could never wait for chance to make our enemies pay. I can not speak for vets from other branches, but being a Marine combat vet, I was never afraid to die, for I could then guard the gates of heaven with my brothers. I can also speak for the rest of my platoon.

The Soviets were weak in their tactics they used in Afganistan, that's why they failed. I have no fear when the time comes we will kill all that need be. Personally, I would turn the place into a radio active parking lot, but thats why a Marine will never be president.

The problem with Somolia was Bill Clinton. Any real president with balls would have let us decimate the enemy.

Though I am not a young pup anymore, I hope they call me back when we go to war. My only fear is I won't get to kill enough of the enemy before the war is over.

It's time we start making the other bast*rds die for their country/cause. We now have a leader that will make that happen. Too bad 5000+ people had to die to get the ball rolling.

Semper Fi and God Bless the USA...

-Muzzy

P.S. In all the little 3rd world sh*t holes I have been to, I have never seen an opponent that we couldn't take out before they knew what the hell was going on. I had lost a couple of buddies too, but I honored their memory by killing more of my enemy.

K., be calm, be cool, everytime you loose your temper as you did in your scream fit the bad guy wins. getting worked up and wanting to form your own Dakota Militia will only get you hurt, The enimey you want to fight is native to the area that he lives and knows it much better then you do. If you go off all hot tempered there will be a new version of Custer's Last Stand only it will be K.Flood's Last Stand. A few years ago I visited the site in Montana where Custer's Army was wiped out and learned how the North American Natives used the land as a weopon to kill many U.S.Soldiers. That is some of the same tactics that the Afghanies have used quite successfully against the Red Army. Your foe has been trained since childhood that dieing in suicide to kill a foe is glorious. One other thing, for the most part Afghanistan is rocky and barren, there is very little sand there. Imagine if you can the badlands of South Dakota mixed with the rockiest mountains, only 100 or more times the size. What engine company did you know that got wiped out, many were and my thoughts are with their families. My daughter lives in Boston and knows of several college students that lost one, and in one case both of their parents.

Thursday, September 20, 2001

Good evening my fellow Americans.
First, I want to pass on my condolences to the people of New York and
all Americans that are hurting in this tragic time. You can rest assured
that anything and everything that can be done to assure the safety of
our country will be done.
This is the greatest country in the world and we will get through this
trying time.
Now is the time for all people to set aside our petty differences and
show the world that no one or nothing can destroy the fortitude of the
American people.
To the people responsible for Tuesday's tragedy, I say this: Are you
f**king kidding me?
Are the turbans on your heads wrapped too tight? Have you gone too long
without a bath?
Do you not know who you are f**king with? Americans are so hungry to
kill,
that we shoot at each other every day.
We will relish that opportunity for new targets for our aggression. Have
you forgotten history?
What happened to the last people that started f**king around with us?
Remember the little yellow b a s t ards over in Japan? We slapped them all
over the Pacific and roasted about 2 million of them in their own back
yard. That's what we in America call a big a s s barbecue. Ever seen Texas
on a map?
Ever wonder why it's so big?
Because we wanted it that way, Mexico started jacking around with the
Alamo
and now they cut our lawns. England? We sent them packing. Ask your
buddy Saddam about f**king with the good 'ole USA. The only reason he
got away the first time is because it's too hard to shoot
someone when you're doubled over laughing at them. Our soldiers aren't
trained to laugh and shoot at the same time. Now he couldn't stop a pack
of cub scouts from taking over his sh i tty little
country.
Trust us, Afghanistan will end up a giant kitty litter box. Go ahead and
try to hide, Bin Laden.
There's not a hole deep enough or a mountain high enough that's going to
keep your camel riding a s ses safe.
We will bomb every inch of the country that harbors him, his camps and
any
place that looks and even smells like he was there. Hell, we might even
drop a few bombs on people that have pi s s ed us off in the past.
This is America!
We kick a s s!
This is what we do!
Go ahead and laugh now, but the Tomahawks are coming and we will smoke
your sorry asses.

God Bless America!

Sounds like plenty of patriotic emotions are available for export. Let's take a little and look at our America and what kind of preventative measures can be taken to protect our basic needs here at home. From what I have seen on the tube we have reason to expect further overt and covert acts. Time to ask what we can do. I doubt throwing lives away trying to find the right cave or tent on the other side of the world will work. Instead I wonder if there would be any volunteers from the local Muslum mosk willing to return to their former countries and provide good information that would allow our superior forces to do surgical strikes. Some forms of cancer may be put into remission with surgery but other forms may require chemo treatments or even radiation. All the noble ideas in the world won't help us much if we are six feet under. Let's support whatever means necessary to rid us of this nasty growth. Then we can truck all over and enjoy the views from the front and rear view mirrow while looking and feeling good about it.
