 Subject: Infamous popping sound

Okay so I have 2000 Koda 2WD. A while back it was making that popping sound when taking turns...I still haven't done anything about it and the sound has turned into more of a "grinding." I've been looking around the board and have seen people suggest about a dozen things it could be (to other posters) I jacked it up and the wheel does seem to jiggle a little bit. I know there was a recall for the ball joints but when I looked at the list it seemed that it only applied to the 4wd trucks/suv...is this the case?? Was mainly just hoping for some input...
