I never been able to get steady rpms while i was in neutral, if wanted to keep 1000 or 2000rpms it would always move up and down and never be steady. I cleaned the TB and it just helped the idle. so i was thinking about changind the TPS but now the transmission is shifting and downshifting crazy, it steps between 2nd and 3rd and had overdrive problems, can a bad TPS do this or its more like a clogged oil cooler or a transmission problem?? What you guys think about this?? its a 92 , 318.

Yes, a bad tps can produce your symptoms.
Get a new one.
Let us know the result.
Cleaning the IAC can help idle problems. Do that before you buy a new tps.

no. if you have a newer mopar w/ electronic trans then yes. back then they didnt have those trans in daks but you said u have an earlie 90's.
so when you cleaned your t-body you had to take off the kickdown cable off. if you moved the spot where it was set at on the clips then it will tell your trans to shift to earlie or to late. also if you have it full throttle it might bounce between 1st. and 2nd gear. i went through the same thing. a good manual will tell the proper setting for that.

When i cleaned the TB, i broke off the kickdown cable plastic thing that clips on the TB bracket, so i had to drill a hole in it to be able to put it back there, glue wasnt strong enough. I never knew it could be the problem, i tried to put it as nearly as possible to the same position too. And one day later it wouldnt shift to 4th. But before i broke that off , i was already experiencing the 2nd and 3rd shifting downshifting crazy problem. Just dont know where to look at.....

Your throttle valve cable is out of adjustment. If you can't fix the attachment to the TB properly, get a new cable and adjust it.

correct. i broke my clip also. just buy one at dealer. i think i payed about $50 took about 10 min. to install. a good shop manual will tell the correct adjustment. usually what i do is completely floor it, move cable till tight and set the clip. then test. might need to adjust couple times to get correct.
