Looking for a replacement bulb that lights up the heating and a/c controls panel. Advance and Autozone say it's unavailable. This is a special quarter-turn bulb that screws into the back of the panel. Anyone know a good source? 2000 R/T

So today I go in search of a bulb. I can't believe the dealer can't indentify the part. Spent almost 30 minutes while the parts mgr looked for it. I even brought a sample with me. He finally asked a service guy (only because I suggested it) and he didn't know either. Unbelievable!

I believe that some people have changed those by just sticking led bulbs in them. They take apart the reg glass bulb and slide the pins of the LED through and just bend them. Supposedly this works, I don't know if it does or not. But if you can't find a replacement, its worth a shot and a trip to radio shack.

Thanks, I just might try that. I did notice that the headlight switch panel uses the same bulb in a longer housing. I remember the dealer calling out a few different bulbs and applications and that was one of them. I recently stuck an aircraft bulb in the little housing and am waiting for darkness to try it. The LED is not a bad idea since they last forever.
