 Subject: Superchips / Hypertech .. Anyone ever ?

I know hypertechs web site states it only works for one truck. I am assuiming it write the vin or something to the programer so you cant use it on another truck.
But I cant find that statement on the superchips programer ?
Anyone try either programer on more than one truck to see what happens?
The reason I ask is I have a 2000 R/T and my brother has a 1999 R/T and the part # for the superchips for either truck is the same. It would be sweet if we could just share the cost on the damn thing.

It would be but then SuperChips & Hypertech wouldn't make any money. Yes, they do write the VIN to the chip while the program is loaded therefore preventing you from using it on multiple trucks.

I have another question about the same sort of thing. If you de-tuned your truck and sold your truck, would you be able to use the tuner on another truck?(assuming that the programmer was designed to be used on that type of truck/engine/year, etc.)

Either tuner can be installed on any truck they support.
When it is "removed" from "truckA" (meaning: "truckA" is now returned to stock PCM programming) it can be installed on "truckB". Now it is locked to "truckB". Remove it from "truckB" and it can be installed on "truckC". And so on, and so on...
