 Subject: Bent torsion Bar

Anyone ever run into this problem? Recently noticed that my driver's side torsion bar looks bent, and is rubbing on the cross-member. Should the dealer cover this? Could the bar just be remove and turned 180deg. and re-installed, or just get out the grinding wheel and carve out that portion of the cross-member?

I'm afraid you are going to have to replace that bar. They are going to tell you that it could not have bent through normal use...that you most likely hit something or high-centered on it. If it is bent it is possible it is also weakened.
