VERY easy to do. Look under the hood. Kinda self-explanatory on a 318. Napa waterpumps are good. I used one of those on mine. I try to stay away from Advance Auto or Autozone. The parts they market or sell are extremely cheap and won't last long. Trust me, I know.

I had a 318 in my 98 that I replaced. It is a
MUCH easier job if you pull the raditor first.

Good luck...

DON"T BUY A REBUILD WATER PUMP. I had a shop for over 40 years. Those rebuilds cost me so much free work it was crazy. I ended up refusing to install rebuilds unless they sigbed my bill copy saying they would pay to redo the job. Ask even NAPA to bring out there rebuilds for your truck. Take them out of the box and check the preasure to turn the shaft and end play. No 2 are the same. there all junk. Spend the bucks for a new one and be a happy driver. My opinion/experence.

So many problems .... So little time

While you have the water pump removed, spend a few more bucks and replace the timing chain. It will save you a lot of extra work in the future.
