It might be the throttle valve cable adjustment. If they're not set right, sometimes you'll get a flair on upshifts.

For 2 cents worth of info, I hope your tranny was flushed and refilled with Mopar brand ATF4, and a Mopar filter. A lot of aftermarket parts work well on our Daks, but the finnicky trannies need Mopar. I know from experience.
Oh, and no additives either.

ATF+3 should be fine, it's what came in your 2000.

If the tranny was from a junk yard there's no telling if any junk got into the tranny with it sitting around, maybe a stuck valve? One little speck of dirt in the wrong place will ruin your whole day.

I had a tranny one time that all of a sudden wouldn't upshift 2-3, 3-4, I had to feather the pedal to get it to shift, thought I had blown the tranny. I took off the pan, inspected/cleaned the valve body and put it back together without finding any problems. I was really pizzed that I didn't find a problem until I drove the truck, there must have been a small chunk of cr@p stuck in the valve body that I cleaned out. Tranny ran fine for 6-7 before the problem and was still running fine 3 years later when I sold the truck.

TV cable, stuck valve/dirt, fluid level low, filter not seated correctly, bad tranny?
