 Subject: to anyone who's replaced broken studs

Where did you purchase replacement studs and nuts at? I need to replace mine since one is broken off and I went to napa and got a set but it say on the package for the flange. They have the same part # listed for both the flange and the manifold itself. Has anybody used these on their truck? thanks

Just be sure they are quality studs. Grade 8 well be best and prefered. Grade 3 is soft junk. Be sure to use an antiseze on the threads so if it happens again, it will be a lot easier to remove the busted part still in the head. By using quality studs,I doubt you would ever have the need to redo it. Most important... Change all studs on both sides . Sooner you do, the easier it will be to remove them. As you already know, removing busted studs as a rule is difficult.

Once when my stud broke really bad, I had to get a temporary replacement while he mended. He's all better now, so I had to let the temp go.

why replace with a stud .... just get a grade 8 bolts with the right length... studs suck

well that was half my question. they gave me bolts,but they were all the same size and I didnt want to tear it off and they be to long ect..
