I have a Dak '99 CC 318 4x4, I need to know what my front differential is, so I can start looking for a locker..
I thought I'd call the dealer, and they would tell me exactly what is on my truck.
So the guy looked in his computer and told me my front diff is a "194IFA", WTF ?? He then told me the "IFA" stands for "Independent Front Aluminium"
So not only would that thing be somekind of unknown part but it would be made out of ALUMINIUM !?!
Darn, I was sure it was a DANA of some kind..
Please, someone, tell me the dealer is wrong..

97-99 have an IFS variation of the Dana35 with an Aluminium housing. 2000+ have a C205mm.

I'm not sure if you can find a locker for them smaller IFS axles.

So far I have just a LSD in the rear and the standard open up front all 4.56 gears and I have pretty good traction on climbing stuff.

Are you trying to climb rocks??? :)

Not many rocks to climb around here :(
I'm using the Dak for work : forest roads, trails, mud holes, swamps and
-"that ditch doesnt look that deep" :)
So the further I can get the truck, the less I have to walk :p

I'm getting 33s and thought I would be better to change the gears (probably go for 4.56), so while at it, why not put a locker in the front (already have LSD in back diff)
I'll check with DC tomorrow to see if they have something..
