It's on the lower rear of the block. Passenger side and kind of below the rear freeze plug.

Nice to know. The 4.7 I bought used for my '74 Duster was missing two sensors. The crnak position sensor and the oil pressure sensor.

Will have to check out rock auto.

I have a 2003 dakota 4x4 4.7 magnum. Less than 30k. It just started doing the rough idol only when it was cold. It would act like it would die but didn't. Took it to the dealer they check the pcm. and flashed it said there were know problems. please let me know if there is a problem so i can take it back to the dealer before the warranty runs out.

kari. Another thing that may need some simple servicing sometimes is the IAC valve. That's the valve in your throttle body that opens to let air in at idle. When they get gummed up, the stick and sometimes cause irratic idle or stalling as well.

You can clean them. Sometimes by simply spraying some cleaner down the hole with the intake tubing off and moving the throttle open and closed to make it move the IAC.

Hey, I guess my crank sensor has been on its way for a good while b/c its running better than it ever has - more throttle response than before.
