One that has recently met with Big Foot in an arena near you. That has the custom crushed drop and crushed top, for that custom low rider look.

For a good cheap get around car Maybe a Mazda of some sort, or one of the older Nissan Hard Bodies, not the gay looking Frontier.

Other than a fuel sqeezer, on a budget car, cause I'm broke and unemployed because some wise azz across the water underbid my Job car. I don't often send my money across the Ocean to support people that could care less about me or my neighbors. Yeah true, some of them are made in the good ole USA, but where does the net profits go? Across the big pond.

I have to say the mazda rx-7 from the 90's. Specifically the one that vin diesel drives in the first fast n furious. The new rx-8 is pretty cool too. The other would have to be a poor mans jaguar (datsun z) from the mid to late 70's just because my old man had one and that thing kicked a$$. Nice flowing lines and fast little bugger too.

Did you see that cop that got out of a ticket in england. He was logged doing 91 in a 30 and 159 on the highway. He said he was testing his new vectra. He is a certified advanced driver...whatever that means. The low court let him go, the high court wants to over turn that and ticket him. That made the news all over england according to my colleagues in our london office.

I used to be a bmw fan, but now I like the Mercedes better.

don't forget the 1001 hp bugatti veyron.

No import truck can compare to my beloved dakotas.

I actually just turned 18 and I manage a gas station. BTW, I am still in High School and I will be attending Wyotech. I hate the people that are single minded thinking any import is a RICER. F&F killed the import reputation and made all these dumb sh*ts think that adding a spoiler and a fart can will make their honda fast. I like both worlds. I love sleepers and would never make an all show car.

I only asked what imports people liked and there is nothing wrong with that question. I did not say to go buy an import because they are cheaper and I did not say I wanted people out of jobs. I'm sorry if you are the person that could only get the facotry job screwing on the lug nuts and now a 13 year old asian kid is doing the labor for a fraction of the cost.

Closest thing I will own to an import is a Diamler-Chrysler product. Even then I make sure it's assembled in the USA with a high domestic parts content. I have a 2001 Ram 1500 and wife has a 2003 Durango. Absolutely will not even consider an import because of the loss of jobs and general misery they cause. Especially Asian imports. Have you heard the Chinese are trying to import cars here? Something needs to be done before we all have crappy Wal-Mart type jobs.

I understand people are upset about losing their jobs, and I can see how thinking you were going to get benefits that no longer exist would be bad too, but thats the way things go. There used to be telegraph operators, blacksmiths, etc. We used to make all of our own electronics in the US as well...jobs come and go, thats just the way our economy works. New vehicle prices are over inflated and ridiculous. While the autoworkers will lose money, it will actually benefit the country as a whole because cars/trucks will have prices drop dramatically because of the new cheaper competition, new technology (Hybrid/alternative fuel) will be easier to put into production and people will have more cash in their pockets in the long run. Just imagine if we all still had to pay for custom handcrafted shirts, pants, food, etc. It sounds nice, but we would all be broke. It just sucks when it effects so many people negatively at once, but the global economy is good.

BS MOPAR 318 and any others that can't see where buying American products helps Americans. It doesn't matter if its cars, crawfish from Louisiana or shoes. There is something called the trade deficit. In the perfect world, we would export as much as we import, but this isn't the case. Instead we import 20X more than we export. Alot of our $$ are going to the far east and that's why the Pacific rim companies floursih while American compnaies either suffer or export jobs and when they do that -- Americans lose good jobs. They can do anything cheaper than us because labor cost are very low, no OSHA, EPA or Workers COmp Program or retirement or health benefits.

MOPAR, I doubt this convinced you of anything. But I offered an opinion and you called me by name. And I have no personal stake in this, my job is in health care and its 100% SECURE from foreign competition (people will always get sick). I'm just concerned for the young people that need jobs.

I love my Dak, but have owned a few Toyota's and think they are good vehicles in general. They handle high mileage well if maintained. My wife has a Camry with 100K on it, and it has been in the shop way less then my Dodge. Definitely not the most exciting car to drive, but very reliable. Have also had '94 Toyota xtracab 4x4, and a '75 Celica. Both great vehicles. Just my .02 cents.

You know. It's a tough decision for me.

At first you think of what some people already mentioned for sports cars.

Mitsu VR4, Nissan Twin Turbo, etc are FAST little cars. BUT. Have you ever looked under the hood at that stuff? You can't get your hands into anything.

I actually wanted to buy a FORD truck in 2003 but comparing how THEIR engine was shoved back into the firewall and how OPEN the Dakota one is made my final decision to by my Dak.

To make it fair in compare... I don't like what they did to the last generation of Camero Firebirds for the same reason.
The engine is shoved way back. Can't see the backs of the valve covers. And the engine drops form the bottom! STUPID!

So I pick cars that are easy for ME to play with. I don't know the imports as well. But I guess whatever was FAST and friendly for me to repair and mod :)

Maybe some V8 RWD Mercedes, Jags, etc...
Something with speed AND a nice rumble of a V8.
And turbo's don't hurt!
