 Subject: G-05 Anti-freeze

My '03 has the pink anti-freeze in it. I just want to top it off for now, but will flush and change later. I know you can't mix this with the green coolant. I ordered some from my local carquest and they delivered Zerex G-05 that is yellow. It says it is for '01 and newer DC's. Is it ok to mix with the pink stuff?

Honestly, with all the stinkin' colors now, I just use Prestone's universal stuff. Says right on the bottle: "ALL Makes, ALL Models"
It is green, but is compatible with all the new low-tox stuff (I think it is also low-tox by the way).
Any LPS should have it...Wal-Mart too.

Regarding Antifreeze & Coolant Color ...
... Red, Green, Purple, PINK .... and even NEUTRAL YELLOW ?
Regardless of the color ... what you do want is a Propylene Glycol (PG) Based Antifreeze and Engine Coolant which is safer for kids, pets, wildlife and the environment ... than Ethylene Glycol (EG) coolants, which are sweet tasting and extremely toxic (fatal). Many deaths have been attributed to Ethylene Glycol (EG) based products.
The DC Service Manual's for many Dakota's and Durango's state to only use antifreeze containing HOAT Technology ( HOAT = Hybrid Organic Additive Technology) to minimize aluminum corrosion and for its biodegradable characteristics.

Zerex G-05 is the same stuff Dodge uses,just has a different color dye.
