Subject: strange noise

when i turn from a stop or slow roll to the left while starting to accelerate, i hear a strange sound from under the rear of my truck. it sounds as if there is something in the bed of rolling around like a can or something. and there is nothing in the back of my truck. its been doing this for about 2 weeks not. i have a 2000 quad cab v6 2wd with 3.55 gears and open diff. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it sound like "ercha...ercha...ercha?" My 2000 R/T made that noise mostly while backing up in a right-hand turn. Replaced my rear axle fluid - problem gone! A low fluid level or old fluid could cause it.

Mine is making the exact same noise. It almost sounds like one of those cheap plastic pushcarts we use at work and it usually only does it to me when I'm going slow in a turn. I'm getting my fluid swapped out with AMSOIL gear lube today so I'll let you know if it fixed my problem.

Check the U joint on your drive shaft. Could be them - I had to change mine out at 65K miles...
